A well-established luxury country hotel and events destination in Muldersdrift is seeking an experienced Senior Chef de Partie – Pastry to join its kitchen team. The Role Reporting to the Head Chef, the Senior Chef de Partie – Pastry is responsible for the daily supervision and operation of the pastry section. The role ensures that all pastry items are prepared and presented to a high standard, in line with the property’s quality, hygiene, and service expectations. Key Responsibilities Full supervision and operation of the pastry section under the guidance of the Head Chef Preparation of a wide range of food items, including including pastries Ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and portion control Training; mentoring, and overseeing junior kitchen staff Maintaining excellent hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards at all times Effective stock control, stock rotation, ordering, and participation in stock takes Minimising waste and managing recycling responsibly Proper use, care, and maintenance of kitchen equipment Maintaining fridges and stores to the highest hygiene and organisational standards Clear communication with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams where required Ensuring proper shift handovers and continuity of service Skills & Experience Matric Diploma in Culinary Arts with a focus on Pastry Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a pastry section within a similar hospitality environment Strong understanding of kitchen procedures, timing, and planning Ability to train and supervise staff level Solid knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards Broad food knowledge with the ability to contribute to menu development Passion for pastry, food excellence, and ongoing professional development Knowledge of safety procedures and basic firefighting equipment First Aid training (advantageous) Strong communication skills High standards of personal hygiene and grooming
