Job Summary
A Hands-on General Manager is required for 22 Suite Hotel in Waterfall City, Gauteng. This position will align well with candidates with a sound Front Office Management / Executive Housekeeping Manager / Rooms Division Management background. Key Responsibilities 1: Leadership & Strategy • Own the full P&L and drive operational performance • Set the strategic direction for growth and continuous improvement • Ensure the business meets profitability and occupancy targets • Report to ownership/investors on performance, risks, and opportunities 2: Operations Management • Oversee daily operations including housekeeping, maintenance, and guest support • Manage listings and optimize pricing across booking platforms (e.g., Airbnb, Apply Below, NightsBridge) • Ensure property standards, cleanliness, and guest experience are consistently high 3: Team Management • Lead and grow a small, dedicated team (cleaners, guest relations, contractors) • Implement systems for accountability, training, and performance tracking • Foster a positive, customer-first culture 4: Guest Experience & Brand • Own the end-to-end guest journey, from booking to checkout • Monitor reviews and feedback, and drive service improvements • Champion the brand as a trusted, premium operator 5: Technology & Systems • Manage and optimize booking platforms, channel managers, and property management software • Use analytics and data to inform decisions (e.g. occupancy, revenue per unit, guest feedback Rate distribution 6: Expansion & Growth • Identify and evaluate opportunities for property acquisition or portfolio expansion • Build partnerships with real estate agents, landlords, and vendors • Assist in securing corporate/long-term partnerships Minimum Requirements: • 5+ years’ experience in hospitality, property management, or operational leadership • Strong grasp of digital booking platforms (Airbnb, Apply Below, etc.) • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage end-to-end operations • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills • Entrepreneurial mind-set with ability to work independently and grow the business • Comfortable with financials, budgets, and KPI reporting • Experience scaling a short-term rental or hotel business preferred
