Job Summary
A Large Facilities and Catering management firm is requiring an experienced IT Technician to provide dedicated on-site support at a prominent client’s site in Kempton Park. Key Duties: User Support, Helpdesk & Incident Management Log; prioritise, track and resolve incidents and service requests. Respond to incidents within agreed service levels/operational time frames. Provide remote and onsite support; troubleshoot hardware/software/network/printer/mobile/peripheral issues. Escalate appropriately while maintaining ownership of communication and follow-up until resolution. Provide incident summaries, root cause analysis and recommendations for critical/recurring/material incidents. Provide basic user training and guidance where required. Software; Business Applications & Systems Support Provide first- and second-line support for approved business applications and software platforms. Install; configure, test and maintain approved applications. Diagnose; troubleshoot and resolve software incidents within scope and authority. Support systems such as Sage, POS systems, payroll systems and other operational applications. Liaise with third-party vendors and escalate specialist/unresolved issues. Provide clear feedback to users on software incidents and escalations. System Administration, Microsoft 365 & Endpoint Support Administer Windows desktop/laptop environments to company standards. Create/update/disable Active Directory accounts, groups and permissions (Instructed/approved). Support Microsoft 365 services (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) where authorised. Configure; maintain and troubleshoot workstation/laptop/mobile environments. Perform routine maintenance, updates and upgrades within approved parameters. Assist with backups, OneDrive sync and recovery processes where applicable. Ensure endpoints have approved antivirus, security updates and required configurations. Escalate complex system admin matters. Network; Connectivity & Infrastructure Support Provide basic support for LAN/WAN/wireless/internet connectivity. Troubleshoot connectivity (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN where relevant). Assist with firewall/router/switch/wireless administration under guidance. Support users with network access and remote access issues. Identify; document and report connectivity risks and recurring failures. Cybersecurity; Access Control & Confidentiality Assist with user access administration, password resets and permission changes per approved procedures. Ensure endpoints meet security configuration requirements. Report suspected cybersecurity incidents immediately to the IT Manager. Support users to comply with IT policies and information security procedures. Maintain strict confidentiality of company information and user/system access details. Escalate access/security/confidentiality concerns without delay. CCTV & Electronic Security Systems Support Support CCTV systems (NVRs, DVRs, IP camera infrastructure). Troubleshoot camera/recording/connectivity issues. Assist with approved CCTV installations, upgrades, replacements and configuration changes. Monitor and report CCTV system faults, downtime and recording failures. Liaise with approved service providers for specialist repair/install/escalations. Hardware; Mobile Device & Peripheral Support Configure; maintain and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices and IT peripherals.· Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 / Matric. National Diploma or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, IT Technical Support or related field (advantageous). Relevant Microsoft, CompTIA, networking, desktop support or Microsoft 365 certification (advantageous). CCTV; networking, cybersecurity or project management certification (advantageous). Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an IT support/desktop support/service desk/IT technician role. Valid driver’s license.
