Social Media Specialist - Luxury Safari & Travel Group - Johannesburg (Head Office) ? New Role Kendrick Recruitment is searching for a skilled and passionate Social Media Specialist for the Johannesburg head office of one of Africa's most iconic luxury safari and travel companies - a brand known globally for world-class safari experiences, conservation leadership and a deep commitment to community and sustainability. This is a role for a digitally sharp, creatively driven and highly organised social media professional who understands the luxury travel space and can bring a premium brand's story to life across multiple platforms with consistency, precision and genuine flair. Please note: Candidates must be based in Johannesburg. This is a permanent, live-out, office-based position. Minimum Requirements: Proven experience managing social media accounts and scheduling platforms for a brand or agency - essential Strong understanding of all major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube - essential Demonstrated experience in community engagement and content publishing Proficient in social media management and reporting tools - AgoraPulse experience advantageous Strong understanding of social media analytics, KPIs and performance optimisation Excellent written communication, copywriting and editing skills Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and act on insights High attention to detail across platform tagging, hashtags, links and tracking standards Experience with influencer engagement and paid media collaboration advantageous Familiarity with digital content trends and community engagement techniques Experience within luxury travel, hospitality or safari sectors highly advantageous Proactive; collaborative and responsive communication style Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Stable work history with contactable references Key Responsibilities: ? Platform Management & Publishing Manage the day-to-day running of all brand social media platforms Schedule and publish content across Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube in line with brand strategy Maintain platform best practices including tagging, hashtags, links and tracking standards Manage YouTube content and align with broader digital and video strategy ? Community Engagement Drive active community engagement through consistent monitoring and response management across all brand channels Track and leverage user-generated content Guide and support social media champions across the business Support lodge and touring social pages through training, guidance and content support ? Analytics & Reporting Monitor social media performance and report on KPIs using AgoraPulse and similar tools Identify trends and opportunities to continuously optimise content performance Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis ?
