The Senior Technical Consultant is accountable for providing expert-level technical consulting, architectural design, and trusted advisory services to enterprise clients. This role serves as a subject matter expert in Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (specifically Nutanix), Data Availability (Veeam), and Enterprise Virtualisation. The incumbent acts as a bridge between client business requirements and technical solutions, ensuring designs are robust, scalable, and fit-for-purpose.

The role is responsible for building deep trust with clients through expert knowledge and active listening, ensuring that technical solutions genuinely address client challenges. Additionally, this role is accountable for mentoring technical teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and demonstrating servant leadership within the Enterprise Solutions Team. While primarily a consulting role (90%), the incumbent retains hands-on specialist capability (10%) to assist with critical technical engagements.

What you'll do:

• Team job coordination across the consultancy, presales, deployment and support. Activity coordination with respect to engagement with clients. Billing out of resources where required. Training enablement for the team.
• Conducting in-depth discovery workshops with clients to understand business challenges and translate them into technical requirements.
• Designing and presenting comprehensive technical solutions (specifically Nutanix and Veeam) that address client needs while ensuring technical viability.
• Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, building long-term relationships through active listening and expert guidance rather than purely transactional sales engagements.
• Providing expert-level technical support and troubleshooting on specialist platforms (Nutanix, Veeam) during critical incidents or complex implementations.
• Mentoring and developing junior team members, sharing knowledge to elevate the team's overall technical capability.
• Collaborating with Account Managers to validate technical feasibility and support the pre-sales process with high-quality solution documentation and proposals.
• Producing professional solution documentation, including architectural diagrams, implementation plans, and technical proposals.
• Maintaining expert-level vendor certifications and staying current with technology roadmaps to ensure advisory services remain future-proof.
• Leading by example through a servant leadership approach, supporting colleagues and clients with humility and a focus on collective success.
• Engaging with key accounts and stakeholders to drive solution strategy and design.
• Acting as Lead Architect for high-value and strategic tenders, responsible for tender qualification, technical strategy, and compiling detailed responses.

Your Expertise:

• Function related experience: 10+ years in IT Infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a senior technical consulting or solutions engineering role.
• Leadership experience: Proven experience in leading teams or mentoring technical staff (formal or informal).
• Domain experience: Deep technical understanding and architectural experience in:
  • Nutanix (Hyper-Converged Infrastructure)
  • Veeam (Backup, Replication, and Availability)
  • VMware (Virtualisation)
  • Enterprise Storage and Compute (HPE, Dell, Lenovo, Huawei, Rubrik, ExaGrid)

Qualifications:

  • IT related Degree (BCom, BSc) or IT Diploma
  • Nutanix: NCP (Nutanix Certified Professional) or NCM (Nutanix Certified Master)
  • Veeam: VMCE (Veeam Certified Engineer) or VMCA (Veeam Certified Architect)
• Beneficial Qualifications:
  • VMware: VCP or VCAP
  • Relevant certifications in Enterprise Storage and Compute technologies.
