About the RoleAs a Truck Mechanic, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a fleet of modern commercial vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, reliable, and roadworthy.
Working in a professional workshop environment, you'll use your technical expertise to diagnose faults, complete preventative maintenance, and carry out repairs to the highest industry standards.
What You'll Be DoingYour responsibilities will include:
Performing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on commercial trucks
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults across a range of truck brands
Inspecting, servicing, and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, and brake systems
Completing repairs in line with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
Carrying out welding and light fabrication work where required
Repairing and replacing truck curtains and tarpaulins
Reading and interpreting technical manuals and workshop documentation
Completing workshop records accurately
Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised work environment
Working closely with the workshop team to maximise fleet reliability and minimise downtime
We're Looking ForTo be successful in this role, you'll have:
Proven experience as a Truck Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Mechanic, or Heavy Vehicle Technician
A recognised qualification in Diesel Mechanics, Automotive Mechanics, or a related trade (preferred)
3–5 years' experience maintaining and repairing commercial trucks or heavy vehicles
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic, and braking systems
A proactive attitude with excellent attention to detail
The ability to work independently and as part of a professional workshop team
Advantageous ExperienceLanguage RequirementAfrikaans proficiency is essential for this opportunity.
Good English communication skills are also required.
