Commis Chef – Luxury Restaurant | Johannesburg
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a passionate and hardworking Commis Chef to join a prestigious Luxury Restaurant based in Johannesburg. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a professional and creative kitchen environment.
Salary: R6,500 per month (negotiable depending on experience)
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role within a fine dining or luxury restaurant environment
Relevant culinary qualification or professional training (advantageous)
Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety standards
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the team
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required
Key Responsibilities:
Assist senior chefs with food preparation and service
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen at all times
Ensure all ingredients are prepared and stored according to safety regulations
Support the team in delivering high-quality dishes consistently
Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards as directed by senior chefs
Contribute to a positive and professional kitchen environment
