Job Summary
Our client is seeking to employ a Regional Sales Manager to join their commercial operations team based in Isando, Gauteng.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving regional sales performance, supporting and developing the dealer network, ensuring operational compliance, implementing sales and marketing initiatives, and maintaining strong relationships with dealers and key accounts within the commercial vehicle industry.
Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate / Matric
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Sales, Business Management or related field advantageous
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Regional Sales Management role
- Commercial Vehicle or Truck Industry experience essential
- Valid Code 8 Driver’s Licence and own vehicle
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Confident and proactive approach with the ability to anticipate issues and business requirements
- Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel extensively within the assigned region
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Manage and oversee dealer network performance within the allocated region.
- Ensure dealer compliance with company policies, procedures and operational standards.
- Provide specialist support and guidance to dealers and branch staff across sales and aftersales functions.
- Monitor and coordinate training initiatives to ensure dealer and branch staff attend relevant training programmes.
- Assist Dealer Principals with the development and implementation of training plans to improve staff capability and performance.
- Participate in training programmes to maintain industry knowledge and professional competence.
- Support mentoring and succession planning initiatives to ensure business continuity.
- Monitor dealer and branch staff morale and implement corrective actions where necessary to protect and strengthen the brand.
- Drive a high-performance culture through effective communication, leadership and support.
- Assist dealers and branches in achieving vehicle sales targets and regional performance objectives.
- Monitor operational budgets including travel and fuel expenditure to ensure cost-effective business practices.
- Ensure dealer vehicle stock is managed in accordance with company policies and floorplan requirements.
- Monitor dealer debtors and ensure vehicle stock payments are settled within required timeframes.
- Ensure all customer vehicle invoices are settled within prescribed company guidelines.
- Manage approved loan and demonstration vehicle usage within agreed parameters.
- Conduct vehicle return assessments and ensure accurate reporting.
- Visit dealers regularly according to established visitation schedules and provide comprehensive feedback reports.
- Evaluate dealer facilities, branding compliance and operational performance.
- Identify areas of concern and implement corrective action plans where necessary.
- Assist dealers in developing and implementing business improvement plans with measurable objectives.
- Conduct regular follow-up reviews against agreed action plans.
- Support dealers in resolving operational and commercial challenges through structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Collaborate with internal marketing teams to ensure successful implementation of marketing campaigns and brand initiatives.
- Monitor customer complaint resolution and ensure issues are addressed effectively to maintain brand reputation.
- Support dealers and branches in securing and retaining key accounts through regular engagement and relationship management.
- Develop specialist product and market knowledge to support business growth within targeted industry segments.
- Participate in industry forums and market engagements to remain informed of industry developments and opportunities.
- Share industry insights and market intelligence with internal stakeholders to support sales growth strategies.
- Prepare and submit accurate regional sales, dealer performance and operational reports.
- Ensure all reporting requirements are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
