Assistant Maintenance Manager
Location: Da Vinci Hotel, Sandton Salary: R41,000 TCTC per month
About the Role
The Da Vinci Hotel is seeking a proactive and hands-on Assistant Maintenance Manager to support the day-to-day maintenance operations of our luxury hotel. This role is ideal for an experienced maintenance professional who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and enjoys leading from the front.
Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, you will assist in ensuring all hotel facilities, plant, equipment, and building services are maintained to the highest standard, providing a safe, functional, and exceptional environment for both guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing the hotel's day-to-day maintenance operations.
Lead, supervise, and mentor the maintenance team, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
Coordinate and perform preventative and reactive maintenance across all hotel facilities.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance issues.
Ensure maintenance work is completed with minimal disruption to guests and hotel operations.
Schedule and monitor planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes.
Coordinate external contractors and service providers where required.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and hotel safety standards.
Assist with maintenance budgeting, stock control, and procurement of maintenance materials.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
Support emergency maintenance requirements, including occasional after-hours or weekend work when operationally required.
Minimum Requirements
Trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Millwright, or a related field (preferred).
Wireman's Licence is advantageous but not essential.
Minimum 5-8 years' maintenance experience within hospitality, facilities management, commercial buildings, or a similar environment.
At least 2-3 years' experience in a supervisory, team leader, or assistant maintenance management role.
Solid knowledge of building maintenance, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, generators, pumps, and general facilities maintenance.
Strong understanding of preventative maintenance programmes and maintenance planning.
Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office. Experience with CMMS or maintenance management software is advantageous.

Employment Details
Salary: R41,000 Total Cost to Company (TCTC)

Overtime: May be required based on operational needs and is not separately remunerated.
Travel: No regular travel required, except for occasional off-site training.
