Job Description
Conducting root cause analysis (RCA) on engine failures, component defects, or repeat issues.
Developing, implementing, and continuously improving the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
Identifying operational risks related to quality and lead mitigation strategies.
Overseeing and auditing all engine rebuilds, servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on diesel and petrol engines.
Maintaining compliance with OEM specifications, mine site requirements, and relevant regulatory standards.
Ensuring compliance with mining standards, OEM requirements, ISO quality guidelines, and internal policies.
Developing and implementing standardized quality procedures across all branches, ensuring consistency in output and customer experience.
Conducting scheduled branch audits focused on process adherence, safety compliance, workmanship quality, and documentation accuracy.
Acting as the primary point of contact for all quality-related matters with major mining clients.
Recommending new tools, technologies, and methods to improve quality outcomes.
Investigating customer complaints, assess validity, and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
Leading quality improvement projects to increase engine reliability, reduce rework, and optimize workshop efficiency.
Qualification & Skills
National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 5–8 years in a Quality Assurance or Senior Technical role within the automotive, heavy engineering, or mining equipment industry.
Quality Management certification (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma) advantageous.
OEM training or certification on Deutz or Cummins engines is highly beneficial.
Proven experience in engine rebuilds, diagnostics, and maintenance, preferably with Deutz and Cummins engines.
Red Seal qualified in Engine Building and Diesel Mechanic is a prerequisite.
Solid Experience working with ISO system.
Advanced technical understanding of diesel engines and heavy-duty mining equipment.
