Job Summary
We are seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to provide technical leadership on large-scale mining projects. This is a fixed term contract opportunity based in Johannesburg, with occasional site travel fully covered by the company.
Contract Type: Fixed-term contract (2+ years)
Qualifications:
Essential: BSc, BEng, or BTech in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis)
Essential: Trained in leadership and project execution
Essential: Actively licensed with a local engineering governing body where required by law (e.g., ECSA)
Desirable: Training in risk management or quality
Requirements:
15+ years of relevant structural engineering experience
Mining project experience (mandatory)
EPCM experience (mandatory)
Strong background in discipline work and understanding of regulations and codes
Experience in estimating project costs and writing proposal content
Based in Johannesburg or willing to relocate
