Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Manager to take ownership of the full finance function, leading a team of approximately 12 finance professionals while partnering closely with regional management, sales, and operations. The role has a strong focus on project accounting, financial control, operational finance, and project profitability.
You will play a key role in strengthening financial performance across the business, providing management with clear commercial insights and ensuring robust reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and compliance. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can confidently move between detailed financial analysis and strategic business discussions.

What You'll Do
Lead and develop the finance function and a team of approximately 12 staff.
Oversee project accounting across multiple regions.
Drive accurate financial control, reporting, and operational finance processes.
Monitor project profitability, job costing, WIP accounting, and revenue recognition.
Develop and maintain tender costing models and templates.
Provide financial analysis and commercial guidance to regional and operational management.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting packs.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Prepare board packs and year-end reporting.
Manage external audits and statutory reporting requirements.
Strengthen financial controls and compliance processes.
Support GMs, regional teams, sales, and operations with financial queries and commercial analysis.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and profitability.
Translate complex financial information into practical business insights for non-financial stakeholders.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
CA(SA), ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.
5–10+ years' experience in project accounting, contract accounting, or a similar project-based environment.
Strong experience in operational finance, job costing, WIP accounting, project profitability, and revenue recognition.
Experience developing tender costing models and financial templates.
Proven experience preparing management accounts, board packs, budgets, forecasts, and year-end packs.
Experience managing external audits and statutory reporting.
Previous leadership experience managing finance teams of approximately 8–15 employees.
Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling, Power Query, and scenario analysis.
ERP experience such as MS Dynamics GP, Dynamics 365, SAP, Sage, or similar.
Power BI or other reporting tools will be advantageous.
Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with non-financial stakeholders.
