Coordinating Nurse – Aviation & Maritime

12–18 Month Contract
Our client, a global leader is seeking a Coordinating Nurse to join their Aviation & Maritime medical assistance team in Johannesburg on a 12–18-month contract.
This role is ideal for a registered nurse with strong clinical experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, international environment while supporting travellers and crew members around the world.
Key Responsibilities
Triage and assess medical situations involving airline passengers and maritime crew.
Provide medical advice via telephone or telemedicine platforms.
Assess fitness to fly or travel based on clinical information.
Coordinate communication between patients, treating physicians, hospitals, and clients.
Arrange medical referrals and monitor patient treatment progress.
Support the coordination of medical evacuations and global medical assistance.
Escalate complex cases to the Medical Director or Nurse Manager where required.
Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure strict medical confidentiality.
Minimum Requirements
Registered Nurse qualification
Valid SANC registration
Minimum 5 years recent experience in ICU or ER or related medical experience
Postgraduate qualifications in ER or ICU advantageous
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and coordination abilities
Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable providing remote medical assessments (phone or telemedicine)
Preferred Experience (Advantageous)
Medical case management experience
Travel medicine or aviation medical assistance exposure
Experience coordinating international medical cases
