Job Summary
Our client, a well-established organisation operating within the material handling and equipment industry, is seeking to employ an experienced Sales and Operations Manager to join their branch based in Nelspruit.
Requirements
- Proven sales track record (minimum 5+ years in a sales leadership role)
- Experience managing a team
- Strong technical understanding (preferably in forklifts, machinery, or equipment)
- Strong administrative and financial mindset
- Excellent computer literacy (Excel, email, reporting systems)
- Valid driver’s license
- Professional, disciplined, and self-driven personality
- Experience in the forklift, material handling, or equipment industry
- Existing customer network in the region
- Experience in branch or business unit management
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Sales Leadership
- Drive new equipment, used equipment, rental, and service sales growth
- Maintain and grow key customer relationships
- Develop and implement branch sales strategies
- Monitor sales performance and ensure targets are achieved
- Lead by example through active involvement in sales activities
Sales Team Management
- Ensure discipline, accountability, and performance culture
- Conduct performance reviews and staff development
- Build a strong, professional team environment
Operations and Technical Coordination
- Understand forklift and material handling equipment operations
- Liaise effectively with workshop and technical teams
- Ensure high service standards and customer satisfaction
Administrative and Financial Control
- Strong control of quotations, costing, margins, and invoicing
- Monitor branch expenses and profitability
- Ensure accurate reporting and record keeping
- Utilize management systems, Excel, and reporting tools effectively
Succession and Leadership Transition
- Work closely with the current Branch Manager
- Learn all operational, financial, and customer aspects of the branch
- Progressively assume greater leadership and sales responsibilities
