Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Support the calculation and analysis of Technical Provisions for financial reporting accuracy.
- Assist with preparation, review, and analysis of IFRS 17 actuarial inputs.
- Contribute to the development, testing, and maintenance of IFRS 17 models, processes, and controls.
- Collaborate with actuarial, finance, capital, and audit teams to ensure compliant and reliable reporting.
- Drive improvements in methodologies, reporting frameworks, and automation initiatives.
- Research and apply actuarial principles to niche insurance products and business requirements.
Job Experience and Skills Required
Education:
- Degree in Actuarial Science with strong academic performance.
- Nearly / newly qualified actuary (ASSA or equivalent).
Experience:
- Minimum 3+ years’ working experience, ideally in the short‑term insurance industry.
- Strong reserving and reporting experience; general insurance exposure advantageous.
- IFRS 17 / IFRS experience desirable (not essential).
- Project management exposure advantageous.
Skills:
- Programming skills (VBA, R, Python or similar) and strong data literacy beneficial.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capability.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a collaborative environment.
