The successful candidate will be responsible for driving vehicle sales, building strong customer relationships, and managing the full sales process from prospecting to vehicle delivery. The role requires a proactive sales professional with strong industry knowledge and the ability to identify new business opportunities within the commercial vehicle sector.

Requirements
Matric / Grade 12 or higher qualification
Minimum 5 years’ experience within the trucking or commercial vehicle industry
Valid driver’s licence (Code 14 advantageous)
Knowledge of the Road Traffic Act
Proven ability to cold call and generate new business opportunities
Strong customer relationship management skills
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong administrative and documentation abilities
High attention to detail
Proactive and confident approach to sales
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
Sales Planning and Business Development
Plan and execute sales activities for allocated strategic accounts.
Provide customers with a reliable point of contact throughout the sales process.
Apply the retail pricing framework to ensure profitable deals.
Achieve or exceed annual targets including unit sales, market share, and gross profit.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting and cold calling.
Customer Relationship Management
Maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
Ensure consistent communication with customers regarding vehicle transactions.
Conduct regular customer follow ups through telephone, email, and site visits.
Promote the company brand as a trusted and reliable partner.
Sales Process Management
Manage the full deal process including vehicle selection, body fitment procurement, delivery, and deal closure.
Provide sales engineering guidance to ensure correct vehicle selection for client needs.
Provide transport consultancy services to demonstrate total operating costs to customers.
Ensure strict control over vehicle deliveries and handovers.
Customer Retention and Growth
Maintain and grow the customer database through continuous engagement.
Keep customers informed of market developments and industry trends.
Identify opportunities for repeat business and long term partnerships.
Administration and Reporting
Maintain accurate customer records and ensure databases are updated regularly.
Ensure all vehicles are invoiced timeously and payments are processed within agreed terms.
Monitor vehicle payment status to ensure eligibility for commission payouts.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Sales Tools and Quotations
Prepare professional quotations including vehicle specifications and electronic drawings where required.
Present detailed proposals and simulations to assist customers in decision making.
