OPERATIONS ASSISTANT | HOEDSPRUIT, LIMPOPO

An exciting opportunity is available for an Operations Assistant to support the safe and smooth delivery of field-based expeditions. This live-in position is ideal for someone looking to build valuable experience in operations, logistics and programme management within a purpose-driven environment.
Start Date: 5 October 2026
Type: Full-time, live-in position
THE ROLE
You will support day-to-day expedition operations, including:
• Kit, equipment and inventory management
• First aid and communications equipment
• Transport, supplies and operational movements
• Reporting and maintaining accurate records
• Volunteer support, training and debriefs
• Daily operational briefings and meetings
• Social media support, including Instagram
• Identifying and escalating safety, safeguarding and welfare concerns
• Problem-solving across a dynamic, field-based environment
Requirements
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Strong administrative and record-keeping skills
Adaptable, proactive and able to prioritise
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel
Fluent in English
Valid First Aid qualification, or willingness to obtain
Valid South African driver's licence with PDP, or willingness to obtain
Comfortable working flexible hours and living on-site
Legal right to work in South Africa
Police clearance and satisfactory references
ADVANTAGEOUS EXPERIENCE
Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:
• Project or programme support
• Tourism or conservation
• Volunteering or youth programmes
• Outdoor or field-based environments
• Stock, vehicles, equipment or practical maintenance
• Social media
