This role suits a practically skilled, solutions-driven professional who thrives in autonomy and can seamlessly move between guest engagement, site operations, and technical maintenance . The centre hosts international professionals contributing to meaningful outreach initiatives, requiring exceptional operational standards and seamless guest experience delivery . This is a hybrid role blending: Duty Management / Lodge Operations Facilities & Maintenance Oversight Logistics & Transport Coordination Stakeholder Engagement (international guests & local partners) You will function as the second-in-command on site ; acting as a trusted extension of senior leadership. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Facilities & Maintenance Management Execute and oversee preventative and reactive maintenance across accommodation units and communal infrastructure Perform hands-on repairs including basic plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and general upkeep Maintain high presentation standards aligned with premium hospitality expectations Coordinate with on-site support staff and external contractors where required 2. Operational & Duty Management Act as Duty Manager ; ensuring smooth day-to-day operations Assume full site responsibility in the absence of senior management Oversee staff coordination, service delivery, and operational compliance Maintain high standards of health; safety, and risk management 3. Guest & Stakeholder Experience Serve as a key point of contact for international visitors and professionals Deliver a professional; responsive, and culturally aware guest experience Handle queries, logistics, and on-site requirements with efficiency 4. Transport & Logistics Coordination Safely transport guests to and from local outreach and operational sites Manage vehicle usage, scheduling, and basic vehicle care Navigate rural and wildlife environments confidently 5. Communication & Digital Responsiveness Monitor and manage operational communication channels (e.g. WhatsApp groups) Respond promptly to guest needs, safety alerts, and operational updates Maintain clear reporting and escalation protocols 6. Standby & Emergency Response Participate in a rotational standby schedule (every second weekend) Respond to after-hours operational issues, guest needs, and site emergencies CANDIDATE PROFILE Core Competencies Hospitality Operations: Proven experience in lodge, hotel, or remote site management Technical Maintenance Skills: Strong practical ability across general repairs and upkeep Guest Relations: High emotional intelligence and service orientation Problem-Solving: Calm, decisive, and resourceful under pressure Autonomy: Comfortable working independently in a remote setting Essential Requirements Fluent English (written and verbal) Valid driver’s licence ( PDP advantageous ) Demonstrated maintenance / handyman capability Digitally literate (mobile-first communication & reporting) Willingness to relocate to a remote Limpopo-based environment Highly Advantageous Previous experience in game reserve / lodge / remote camp environments Exposure to NGO; volunteer, or community-based operations Basic knowledge of health & safety compliance in hospitality settings BEHAVIOURAL FIT We are targeting individuals who are: Hands-on and pragmatic (not desk-bound managers) Highly responsive and accountable Comfortable in a wildlife-rich; rural environment Able to balance structure with adaptability Motivated by purpose-driven work and tangible impact WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT Unique blend of hospitality + technical + purpose-driven work Exposure to international professionals and meaningful community initiatives Work in one of South Africa’s most scenic and ecologically rich regions High level of responsibility; autonomy, and trust CALL TO ACTION If you are a multi-skilled operator who thrives in environments where no two days are the same ; and you bring both technical capability and operational maturity ; we invite you to apply.
