Employer Description Private Game Reserve in Hluhluwe, KZN Job Description Our client is seeking two Procurement Clerks, one based in Umhlanga Rocks and the other at a game reserve in Hluhluwe, to manage day‑to‑day purchasing activities across lodges, camp and field operations in a remote reserve setting. The role involves ensuring that goods and services are sourced cost‑effectively, meet operational requirements, and are delivered reliably despite logistical challenges. Key Responsibilities: Procurement Administration: Manage end-to-end purchasing processes, review requisitions and ensure compliance with policies. Supplier Sourcing: Identify and evaluate suppliers, obtain quotations, negotiate terms and manage procurement across multiple sites. Supplier Onboarding & Compliance: Verify supplier documentation, maintain accurate records and support periodic reviews. Purchase Order Management: Create and route purchase orders, track outstanding orders and confirm supplier delivery commitments. Monitoring & Reporting – Track supplier performance, prepare procurement and spend reports, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Governance & Risk Control: Ensure audit-ready documentation, compliance with policies and escalate risks or non-compliance issues. Operational Support: Collaborate with finance, lodge managers and operational teams to meet procurement needs and improve processes. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Procurement Clerk, Procurement Administrator, or in a related role. Tertiary qualification in Purchasing, Logistics, Business Administration, or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with competent driving skills. Hands-on experience with purchasing software and manual documentation controls. Advantageous: Prior exposure to procurement in conservation, hospitality, or remote/rural operations. Skills Strong understanding of supply chain procedures. Knowledge of vendor sourcing practices including research, evaluation, and liaison. Familiarity with logistics in remote or reserve-based environments. Effective negotiation skills. Solid analytical ability for cost analysis. Resilience and adaptability to overcome logistical challenges in remote settings. Salary/Package R12 000 to R15 000 CTC per month, depending on experience and suitability.
