Hospitality and Outdoor – New Vacancy – Junior Sous Chef Luxury Lodge – Northern KwaZulu-Natal Requirements · Matric · Formal culinary qualification advantageous · Experience in the service industry, especially in dealing with guests and staff · All-rounder, knowledge of pastry and hot section · At least 3+ years relevant experience · Passion for creating fabulous food · Passion for kitchen management – including all kitchen administration, general hygiene and people management · Good organisational ability · Lateral thinking and able to handle pressure in a professional manner · HACCP Knowledge · Knowledge and experience with PANstrat would be advantageous · Must adhere to World Class Hospitality and Service Standards · Honest, have good integrity, proactive and driven person who has career ambitions · Ability to mentor and train staff · Strong pastry skills with experience in creating high-quality desserts Valid unendorsed SA driver’s license essential Responsibilities · Maintain top health, hygiene, and safety standards · Correct use of cleaning chemicals and stock management · Follow Food Styling Guide and work with Training Chef & Executive Chef · Ensure quality and portion control for all food leaving the kitchen · Oversee bush banqueting, picnics, and drink stops with proper checklists · Maintain kitchen cleanliness, stock rotation, and proactive maintenance · Engage positively with guests and chefs; encourage feedback and teamwork · Manage special dietary requirements and meet guests when needed · Keep “911” emergency food stocked · Monitor food costs, manage leftovers, and assist with ordering · Ensure fridges, freezers, and storerooms are clean, locked, and controlled · Work independently, stay innovative, and lead the Pastry Section Package on offer · Market related salary · Live in Starting date: ASAP
