Job Summary
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Junior NICC Assistant within the Distribution Team. This is a developmental opportunity for a candidate with previous short-term insurance experience who is looking to further develop their skills in client service support, administration, insurance operations, task management, and internal stakeholder coordination.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Area Distribution Manager, Area Distribution Manager Assistant, Executives, Advisors, and internal departments to support day-to-day operations while developing the skills and experience required for potential progression into a NICC Assistant position. The candidate should have sufficient insurance experience to become operational within a reasonable training period.
Progression into a NICC Assistant position will be subject to performance, demonstrated competency, successful completion of applicable development and qualification requirements, and business needs.
Preference will be given to candidates residing in the Hessequa District.
Key Learning Areas and Responsibilities:
• Assist with calls, emails, meeting requests, claims-related communication, and general correspondence.
• Support query follow-ups, task updates, notes, due dates, and feedback within agreed service levels.
• Assist with internal and external correspondence between departments, clients, insurers, Executives, and Advisors.
• Provide administrative support to the Area Distribution Manager and wider Distribution Team under supervision.
• Assist with scheduling appointments and meetings where required.
• Support the preparation, editing, and updating of reports, spreadsheets, client documents, and review documentation.
• Learn when to escalate doubtful, sensitive, or high-value client matters to the Area Distribution Manager Assist, Area Distribution Manager or relevant Advisor.
• Assist with possible claims, client detail amendments, policy-related updates, system updates, and ad hoc administrative requests.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications/Certifications:
• Grade 12 / Matric
• Computer literacy
• RE5 – highly advantageous
• Class of Business training – advantageous
Minimum Experience:
• 1-2 years of short-term insurance experience.
• The candidate should have sufficient insurance experience to become operational within a reasonable training period
• Personal and/or Commercial Lines experience – highly advantageous
• Experience with policy administration, amendments, quotations, renewals, claims, and client servicing – advantageous
• Experience working with clients, Advisors, insurers, or internal business departments will be advantageous
