A leading manufacturer of wood-based panel products is seeking a commercially minded Architectural & Design Consultant to drive product specification and brand preference within the architectural and design community across the Garden Route region.
With a heritage of over a century in the industry, the company is recognised for supplying high-quality panel products used in kitchens, built-in cupboards, furniture manufacturing, retail fit-outs and modern interior spaces, serving trade retailers, manufacturers, and the construction sector across Southern Africa.
This role is responsible for building strong relationships with architects, designers, kitchen manufacturers and key specifiers to ensure the company’s products are considered and specified in residential, commercial and hospitality projects.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Generation Strategy
Develop and implement targeted demand creation strategies aimed at architects, designers, kitchen manufacturers and specifiers.
Identify high-potential markets and build relationships within the architectural and interior design ecosystem.
Collaborate closely with internal sales and marketing teams to drive awareness and adoption of product ranges.
Project Specifications
Engage architects and designers early in the design phase to secure product specifications on building and interior design projects.
Manage and track a project specification pipeline, ensuring opportunities are followed through to project completion.
Provide technical product information, specifications, finishes and design guidance to support the specification process.
Customer Activation & Industry Engagement
Plan and host customer activation events, including product launches, design showcases and networking events.
Deliver workshops, lunch-and-learns and presentations to architectural firms, design studios and industry bodies.
Build strong relationships with the regional design and specification community to position the company as a trusted partner in creating inspiring spaces.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
BCom Degree or Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Architecture, Interior Design or related field
Valid driver’s licence
Experience
Experience working with architects, designers, specifiers or kitchen manufacturers
Proven experience in specification sales or demand generation
Experience in industries such as building materials, decorative surfaces, furniture manufacturing, interior finishes, cabinetry or construction products
Strong ability to influence specifications and manage project pipelines
