Job Summary
High-end Wine Estate is looking for a Wine Sales Representative based in Gauteng (field-based, with regular travel across the province). We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded candidate to manage and grow presence within the Gauteng hospitality market . The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities ; strengthening existing customer relationships ; and increasing the distribution and visibility of the brands across restaurants; hotels, lodges, wine bars and other premium hospitality outlets. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong wine knowledge ; excellent relationship-building skills and a proven track record in sales. Duties: Grow sales volume, revenue and distribution of wines within the Gauteng hospitality sector. Identify and develop new business opportunities across restaurants, hotels, lodges and related hospitality establishments. Maintain and expand existing customer relationships through regular account visits and proactive customer service. Secure and maintain wine list placements, by-the-glass listings and promotional opportunities. Conduct wine tastings, staff training sessions and customer activations. Negotiate pricing, trading terms and promotional activities within approved parameters. Monitor competitor activity and market trends and provide relevant feedback to the business. Manage territory call cycles, stock availability and merchandising standards. Represent the estate at industry events, trade shows and wine exhibitions. Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and call reports. Achieve monthly and annual sales targets. Requirements: Minimum of 2 to 3 years' sales experience, preferably within the wine, liquor or FMCG industry. Established network within the Gauteng restaurant and hospitality market. Sound wine knowledge and a genuine passion for the South African wine industry. Valid Code B driver's licence and own reliable vehicle. Strong communication, negotiation and relationship management skills. Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required for events and customer functions. Formal wine qualification (WSET, Cape Wine Academy or equivalent). Experience representing premium wine brands. Existing relationships with hotel groups, restaurant groups or national hospitality accounts.
