Job Summary
Roles and Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Field Technician with 3+ years of proven hands-on experience to execute on-site installations and maintenance for commercial client businesses. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing servers, PCs, printers, and network cabling — including running cables and fastening conduit. Digging trenches is not required.
Core Responsibilities:
Cabling & Physical Installations
Run and terminate network cables (Cat5e/Cat6), install wall sockets, patch panels, and network points.
Install cable conduit and securely fasten cabling infrastructure on-site.
Ensure cable runs are neat, labelled, and comply with standards.
Equipment Installation & Maintenance
Install, configure, and repair servers, desktop PCs, and printers at commercial client locations.
Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on installed equipment.
Network Infrastructure Support
Install and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and related network hardware as needed.
Test and troubleshoot network connectivity on-site to ensure operational efficiency.
Client Site Support & SLA Compliance
Deliver prompt on-site support adhering to client SLAs.
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, equipment installed, and client feedback.
Requirements & Experience Needed:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in on-site IT infrastructure installation and support at commercial sites.
Proven skills in running network cables and installing conduit (no trench digging required).
Experience working with servers, PCs, printers, and network hardware.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to read and work from network diagrams or installation plans.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transport preferred.
Physically fit to lift IT equipment and work on-site (including ceiling and rack installations).
Physical & Practical Expectations
Frequent lifting and moving of equipment such as servers and network switches.
Working safely at heights or in confined spaces as required by installations.
Reliable attendance during the specified working hours and occasional Saturday shifts.
Success Indicators
High quality, timely, and neat installations on client sites.
Strong client satisfaction and positive feedback.
Consistent adherence to scheduled hours and SLA commitments.
Candidate residing in Lynwood or in close proximity will be given preference.
