Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Facilities Manager to ensure the club facilities are maintained to the highest standards, creating exceptional member experiences while supporting the purpose of inspiring people to live active lives. Reporting to the Club General Manager and Regional Facility Manager, you will lead all preventative and reactive maintenance, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, manage maintenance budgets, and oversee the efficient operation of building services and utilities. KEY RESPONSIBILTIES: Plan and execute preventative maintenance across all club facilities and equipment, including: Fitness equipment (out of warranty) Swimming pools and spa systems HVAC systems Hot and cold-water systems Building infrastructure Saunas and steam rooms Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and emergency repairs. Ensure all maintenance is completed in accordance with company policies and Health & Safety standards. Monitor and investigate water and electricity consumption to improve operational efficiency. Maintain club facilities in line with brand standards and address repair issues promptly. Support; coach, and develop onsite maintenance staff. Manage contractors, maintenance schedules, and escalate major issues when required. Assist in managing maintenance budgets, including premises, plant, pools, water hygiene, grounds, consumables, health & safety, and related operational expenses. Collaborate with club leadership and regional maintenance teams to deliver consistent operational excellence. Fulfill Head of Department (HOD) responsibilities, including Manager on Duty (MOD) duties when required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: SA Citizen Matric (NSC) qualification. Relevant advanced technical qualification. 2–3 years' proven maintenance experience. Hands-on experience with plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, plant equipment, and general building maintenance. Sound understanding of Health & Safety regulations. Experience managing maintenance costs and utility consumption. Strong people management skills with the ability to work independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel). Valid drivers’ license and own reliable transport PREFERRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Financial and administrative knowledge. Excellent planning, organization, and problem-solving abilities. Multi-site facilities management experience.
