About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Key Account Product Specialist (Equipment) to support key customers, sales teams and dealer networks through expert product knowledge and technical guidance.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Matric)
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Mining Engineering, Business Management or a related field will be advantageous
Minimum 3–5 years' experience in product support, technical sales, application engineering or heavy equipment sales
Experience within the construction, mining, agricultural or heavy equipment industries
Strong understanding of earthmoving or heavy machinery applications
Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
Computer literate in Microsoft Office
Valid driver's license
Willingness to travel extensively throughout South Africa
Advantageous
Experience supporting OEM equipment
Knowledge of product lifecycle management
Experience working with dealer networks and key account customers
Understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles
Experience delivering technical product training and demonstrations
Key Responsibilities
Product & Technical Support
Provide expert product support to key account customers, dealers and internal sales teams
Assist customers in selecting equipment solutions based on operational requirements
Conduct product demonstrations and equipment presentations
Provide technical advice on machine applications, performance and productivity
Support new product launches and product introductions
Key Account Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic accounts
Conduct regular customer visits to understand operational requirements
Support sales teams in developing customer-specific equipment solutions
Assist with tender submissions and technical proposals
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and aftersales support
Product Management
Monitor market trends, customer feedback and competitor activity
Assist in developing product strategies and portfolio improvements
Support equipment performance evaluations and field testing
Prepare product reports and market intelligence for management
Recommend product enhancements based on customer requirements
Training & Commercial Support
Deliver technical product training to sales teams, dealers and customers
Develop product presentations and technical documentation
Support pricing discussions and commercial negotiations
Assist with Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis where required
Collaborate with marketing and aftersales teams on product promotion initiatives
