Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of actuarial analysts and consultants.
- Oversee, review, and ensure quality of actuarial deliverables, including:
- Statutory valuations (including IFRS17)
- Embedded Value reporting
- Product pricing and design
- Model validation & governance
- ORSA reporting
- Surplus analysis and experience investigations
- Technical actuarial audits
- Capital modelling & solvency calculations
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory standards, and actuarial frameworks.
- Manage multiple projects with effective resource allocation, timelines, and quality assurance.
- Contribute to thought leadership through research, publications, and industry presentations.
- Support business development through proposals, client pitches, and technical insight.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
Education – Minimum requirement:
- Fellow of a recognised actuarial body (FASSA, FIA or equivalent).
Experience:
- 8–10 years actuarial experience.
- Minimum 2 years in a leadership or managerial position.
- Strong technical background in insurance, risk modelling, and financial reporting.
- IFRS17 experience advantageous.
Skills:
- Proficiency in actuarial software such as Prophet, MoSes, R, Python, etc.
- Strong analytical, statistical, and modelling expertise.
- Excellent stakeholder and client engagement ability.
- Leadership qualities with proven team development experience.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of consulting environments.
- Innovative mindset with ability to apply modern tools (AI, data analytics) to actuarial work.
