Overall Purpose of the Position:
The purpose of this role is to deliver operational excellence through CHAMPS (Cleanliness, Hospitality, Accuracy, Maintenance, Product, Speed of Service), while developing and motivating team members to ensure customer satisfaction, strong employee engagement, and sustainable restaurant performance. The Restaurant Manager (RM) supports the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) by managing shifts, controlling costs, ensuring compliance, and leading the restaurant team in line with company policies and standards.
This role forms part of a structured succession pathway, starting with a supervised training phase at KFC Kraaifontein before assuming full RM responsibilities. Successful progression depends on passing all required training modules and certification assessments.

Supporting the training, development, and coaching of Team Members to strengthen skills, performance, and long-term growth.
Providing regular coaching, constructive feedback, and recognition to maintain high performance standards.

Deliver a Consistent Customer Experience
Ensuring all employees deliver on CHAMPS standards, consistently exceeding customer expectations.
Monitoring and coaching performance for each shift to ensure customer satisfaction targets are met and issues are resolved effectively.
Forecasting, scheduling, and allocating staff efficiently to balance staffing costs while meeting business needs.
Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and hygiene requirements, protecting employees, customers, and company assets.
Driving a customer-first culture by addressing complaints promptly with professionalism and escalating unresolved matters to the RGM.
Ensuring the restaurant environment is clean, well-maintained, and welcoming at all times.
Performance Indicators: CHAMPS/ROCC Audits, Customer Complaint Resolution Rate & Operational Routine Compliance
Grow the Brand, Sales and Profits
Managing day-to-day operations with a focus on sales growth, operational efficiency, and long-term profitability.
Controlling food, packaging, and staffing costs in line with budget and performance targets.
Monitoring and acting on sales, inventory, and controllable expense reports to meet or exceed margin targets.
Executing restaurant marketing initiatives to build sales and strengthen community engagement.
Ensuring restaurant equipment and facilities are maintained to brand standards and report maintenance needs promptly.

Ideal Requirements
Minimum: Grade 12 / Matric
Essential: 5 years supervisory experience with proven ability to lead large teams and manage multiple shifts
Passion for coaching, mentoring, and succession planning to foster growth and leadership within your teams
Ability to interpret and act on P&L statements, manage budgets, control labour, food costs, and other controllables
Proficient with MS Outlook with the ability to use MS Office tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) at beginner level
Good understanding of CHAMPS, food safety, health & safety compliance, and operational excellence in a high-volume environment
Good numeracy and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and act on reports
Willingness to work shifts, evenings, weekends and public holidays in line with business needs
Flexibility to work at any Restaurant within region based on business needs

Important Information for Candidates
Initial Training: All successful candidates will undergo a structured training program at KFC Kraaifontein for 6 months.
Passing Requirement: Progression to full RM level requires passing all training assessments. Failure to do so may affect continued employment.
Mobility Requirement: Post-training, placement may occur at any Cape Town restaurant based on business needs.
Succession Plan: Typically 1-3 months depending on performance, readiness and business needs.
