Successful candidate will be responsible for analysing management accounts, investigating variances, and reviewing a wide range of financial journals, reconciliations, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance. Duties include payment releases, tax and VAT reviews, budgeting and forecasting, fund provisions, and balance sheet oversight. The role also supports audits, prepares statutory and internal reports, manages accruals, and responds to stakeholder queries and ad hoc management requests.
Duties:
Oversee the accuracy and completeness of accounting records across all operating entities
Analyse financial information to provide meaningful insights and highlight concerns or anomalies
Prepare and submit monthly financial reports via Hyperion, ensuring alignment with deadlines
Manage the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and expense monitoring
Review consolidated management accounts and provide detailed commentary
Develop and present quarterly Board Packs and Risk Registers, offering value-added recommendations
Engage with operational departments and head office finance teams on financial matters
Evaluate and improve financial processes to ensure alignment and standardization
Lead finance projects, including system implementations and process enhancements
Approve refunds, credit notes, and payments according to mandates
Support business and finance operations, including payroll budgeting and forecasts
Review tax returns and VAT submissions for accuracy and compliance
Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure thorough audits and compliance
Requirements:
CA (SA) or B Com (Hons.) or equivalent qualification
10+ years of finance reporting experience, ideally across industries including financial services, manufacturing, or distribution
Strong proficiency in MS Excel, financial analysis, and reporting
Solid experience in budgeting and financial management
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Leadership experience with people management capabilities
Knowledge of IFRS and financial systems, with Microsoft Finance and Operations experience advantageous
Critical thinker with entrepreneurial spirit and strong analytical skills
