NOW HIRING: Financial Controller | Luxury Private Game Reserve | Eastern Cape About the Opportunity Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Financial Controller to join an exclusive luxury private game reserve in the Eastern Cape. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong accounting and financial control experience who is comfortable working within a remote luxury hospitality environment. The successful candidate will oversee key financial functions, maintain strong financial controls and support the operational team with accurate and timely financial information. Key Responsibilities • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the reserve. • Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation. • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. • Conduct regular bank, creditor, debtor and general ledger reconciliations. • Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes. • Prepare management accounts, financial reports and relevant analysis. • Monitor budgets, expenditure and operational costs. • Identify and investigate financial variances and discrepancies. • Maintain effective internal financial controls and procedures. • Oversee cash management and ensure accurate cash-up and banking procedures. • Assist with stock control, stock takes and cost management. • Monitor supplier invoices and ensure accurate and authorised processing. • Support budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management. • Assist with payroll-related financial processes and reconciliations where required. • Ensure financial records are maintained accurately and are audit-ready. • Work closely with Heads of Department and management to provide financial guidance and support. • Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity when dealing with sensitive financial information. • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial policies and procedures. Key Requirements • Grade 12 / Matric. • Relevant Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management or a related field. • Minimum 3–5 years' relevant financial or accounting experience. • Previous experience within a luxury hotel, lodge, resort or hospitality environment is highly advantageous. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls. • Proven experience with reconciliations, creditors, debtors and financial reporting. • Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills. • Experience with hospitality accounting systems and/or PMS/POS systems will be advantageous. • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, stock control and cost management is beneficial. • Strong understanding of financial procedures and internal controls. • Skills & Attributes The successful candidate will be: Highly organised and detail-oriented. • Numerically and analytically strong. • Accurate and methodical in their approach. • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of financial functions. • Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. • A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. • Professional, trustworthy and discreet. • Solutions-focused with strong problem-solving abilities. • Comfortable working within a remote luxury hospitality environment. • Able to work collaboratively with operational teams and management. • Working Environment The successful candidate must be comfortable living and working within a remote private game reserve environment and contributing to the financial requirements of a luxury hospitality operation. • The position follows a Monday to Friday work cycle and is offered on a live-in basis, with meals excluded.
