A leading engineering solutions provider in the mineral processing sector is looking for two technically strong, commercially minded Service/Sales Engineers to join their Aftermarket Division based in Johannesburg East.

This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanically inclined professional who enjoys being hands-on in the field while also building trusted client relationships. The successful candidates will play a critical role in ensuring installed equipment remains operational, efficient, and fully supported — while identifying opportunities for spares, upgrades, and preventative maintenance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and support separation equipment within mining and mineral processing environments
  
• Build strong relationships with existing clients and become a trusted technical advisor
  
• Identify aftermarket sales opportunities including:
  

• Spares
  
• Retrofits and upgrades
  
• Service agreements
  
• Preventative maintenance solutions
  
• Ensure clients maintain appropriate critical spare stock levels to minimise downtime
  
• Perform equipment inspections and generate structured technical reports
  
• Assist with commissioning, servicing, and fault-finding on installed equipment
  
• Support performance optimisation on:
  
• Vacuum Belt Filters
  
• Thickeners
  
• Clarifiers
  
• Filter Press systems
  
• Identify wear trends, performance inefficiencies, and potential breakdown risks before failures occur
  
• Submit detailed site service reports within required turnaround times
  
• Maintain strict compliance with mining safety standards and site procedures
  
• Travel extensively to client sites locally and internationally
  

Requirements

• Qualification
  
• Artisan / Mechanical Technician / Engineer (Fitter & Turner, National Diploma, BTech, BSC)
  
• Industry / Equipment Exposure
  
• Mining, Minerals Processing Technologies, Liquid-Solid Separation Technologies (Belt Filters, Thickeners, Clarifiers, Filter Presses)
  
• Experience
  
• 2-5 years experience doing similar work, Field Service-calling on the Mines - doing Mechanical Maintenance on Process Equipment.
  
• With a track-record of technical troubleshooting and maintenance
  
• Other Skills Needed
  
• Excellent communication and client engagement skills
  
• Commercially aware with the confidence to identify sales opportunities while on-site
  
• Safety-conscious with a professional approach to client service
  
• Strong reporting and organisational skills
  
• Self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of working independently in demanding environments
  
• Also Important to Note:
  
• Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 70%)
  
• Valid driver’s licence
  
• Successful candidates must meet mining site access requirements, including medical fitness and criminal clearance checks.
  
• European passport advantageous for international travel assignments

• Salary: R450,000 – R600,000 CTC per annum (depending on experience)
