The Quality Engineer will develop, implement, and maintain Quality Assurance systems to ensure the delivery of high-quality parts to both internal and external customers.
Maintain and update the Quality Management System (QMS) and all related process control documents.
Identify, implement, and monitor scrap reduction initiatives.
Ensure quality of incoming components and overall plant output.
Serve as the primary contact for customer quality issues and respond promptly to complaints.
Facilitate problem-solving initiatives within the plant.
Manage and coach subordinates to achieve departmental objectives.
Analyze measuring reports and ensure accurate documentation and reporting.
Conduct internal audits in compliance with ISO/TS 16949 standards.
Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and standards (ISO/TS 16949).
Knowledge of manufacturing processes: stamping, welding, and customer processes.
Proficiency with measuring equipment and report analysis.
Experience with Quality Core Tools: PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC.
Leadership and team facilitation capabilities.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
Ability to write reports and deliver presentations effectively.
Education: ND/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; qualified Tool, Jig, and Die Maker (N4) advantageous.
Training: Core tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC); computer literate.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years in quality within a manufacturing environment.
Minimum 3 years in a stamping environment within the automotive industry.
Minimum 3 years in Process Engineering or a Quality discipline.
Qualifications: NQF Level 5 or equivalent.
