Job Summary
A Junior Farm Supervisor is sought to join this working farm in Durbanville, part of a luxury hospitality group. You will be required to support the day-to-day running of a diversified farm estate that integrates hospitality, grounds & gardens, and maintenance operations. This role ensures smooth coordination of farm activities, upkeep of gardens and landscapes, and basic maintenance support to protect guest experience, operational efficiency, and long-term asset value. Working closely with the Farm Manager and hospitality teams, the Junior Supervisor is expected to be hands-on, proactive, and detail-oriented — ensuring that the farm remains guest-ready, compliant, and visually appealing while supporting sustainable farming practices. · Ensure farm operations, gardens, and grounds are maintained to hospitality standards. · Support guest experience by keeping facilities, landscapes, and farm areas safe, clean, and functional. · Assist with routine maintenance and coordinate small-scale repairs. · Supervise farm hands and grounds staff to deliver consistent quality and productivity. · Uphold compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. · Supervise daily farm activities including planting, irrigation, harvesting, and livestock care (if applicable). · Maintain gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas to luxury hospitality standards. · Monitor equipment, tools, and farm vehicles for safe and efficient use. · Ensure farm areas accessible to guests are clean, safe, and visually appealing. · Assist with farm-to-table hospitality experiences (e.g., garden tours, produce supply). · Coordinate with hospitality teams to align farm operations with guest schedules. · Conduct routine checks on farm infrastructure (fences, irrigation, pathways, lighting). · Support minor repairs and escalate larger maintenance issues to Facilities Manager. · Keep accurate logs of maintenance activities and equipment servicing. · Lead and motivate farm hands, groundskeepers, and casual staff. · Allocate daily tasks and monitor performance. · Provide basic training on safety, equipment use, and farm procedures. · Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations. · Maintain safe working practices across farm and hospitality areas. · Report hazards, incidents, and risks promptly. Requirements: SA Citizen Grade 12 or similar Practical experience in farming, landscaping, or grounds maintenance. Strong work ethic with hands-on approach to supervision. Basic technical knowledge of farm equipment, irrigation, and maintenance. Good communications Ability to lead small teams and coordinate daily operations. Organised; reliable, and able to work under pressure. Cape Winelands–based (or willing to relocate) with valid driver’s license. This is a live-out position
