Job Summary
Our client, a market leader in the Material Handling space, is seeking to employ a Technical Service Assistant to join their team in Durban.
Requirements:
- Technicon or University Graduate in Chemistry, Quality management or Process Engineering fields. (NQF5 or NQF6)
- Composite Experience would be an advantage.
- Good Communication skills at all levels (Shop floor and Management).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel / Word including Pivot tables creation and use in analysis of data and reporting.
- Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office applications is essential.
- Driver's license and own transport.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
1. Customer Complaints:
- Receive and record complaints.
- Issue unique tracking number for each complaint.
- Maintain database and ensure compliance with internal SOP regarding complaints turnaround and customer communication,
- Ensure that each complaint is closed off once investigations are completed and database updated.
- Liase, as required, with suppliers when internal investigations indicate that supplier intervention is required.
- Carry out technical investigations and report findings relating to customer complaints.
- Have investigations signed off.
2. Customer Trials of New Products:
- Assist Sales with direct customer trials and observe trials as required. Report on trials and customer interactions.
- Assist with technical issues encountered by sales.
- Assist sales department with selection of appropriate products for their customers and customer approval.
3. Manage System Codes for New Products introduced:
- Liaise with supply chain and Sales for creation of these codes as requested,
- Maintain product code database integrity and consistency.
- Periodic updates with sales input (annually or as required).
- Maintain National Sales report on a monthly basis and communicate report to GM / Sales once approved for release.
- Assist with technical verification exercises for new manufactured products.
