About Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Consultant / Accountant to join a dynamic accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients across accounting, taxation, financial reporting and SARS compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the full accounting and tax function for a portfolio of clients.

• Complete accounting functions up to Trial Balance.

• Prepare monthly management reports.

• Draft annual financial statements for companies, trusts and sole proprietors using CaseWare.

• Prepare and submit income tax returns for individuals and companies.

• Prepare and submit VAT returns for sole proprietors, companies and trusts.

• Handle SARS correspondence and client tax queries.

• Attend to SARS e-Filing, including notices of objection and suspension of debt.

• Provide clients with accounting and tax advice.

• Ensure all work is accurate, compliant and completed within deadlines.

• Maintain professional relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

• Travel to clients when required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Accounting Degree or Higher Diploma – non-negotiable.

• Completed Articles.

• 3–5 years' relevant experience within an accounting firm.

• Strong knowledge and practical experience with CaseWare and Pastel – imperative.

• Practical experience with SARS e-Filing.

• Experience with income tax and VAT returns.

• Experience preparing annual financial statements.

• Knowledge of accounting and tax legislation.

• Membership/affiliation with SAICA, SAIPA, ACCA, CIMA or SAIBA will be advantageous.

• Valid driver's licence – non-negotiable.

• Own reliable vehicle.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

• Professional communication and client-facing skills.
