Production Manager
Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
Our client, a leader in the chemical manufacturing sector, is looking for an experienced Production Manager to take full ownership of plant operations, drive performance, and lead a high-impact production team.
This is a strategic leadership role overseeing Production Plants (SMR & Hydrogen Peroxide) and Tank Farm operations, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and manage daily plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production
- Drive performance across Safety, Health, Environment, and Production targets
- Plan and coordinate production runs in line with sales and laboratory requirements
- Oversee plant maintenance planning and shutdowns
- Ensure product quality and availability for dispatch
- Lead, mentor, and develop production teams
- Manage compliance with OSHAct, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements
- Act as a key stakeholder in capital projects, HAZOPs, and operational improvements
- Produce and analyse weekly and monthly production reports
- Troubleshoot plant issues to maintain optimal output
What You Bring
- Relevant tertiary qualification (Engineering / Production / related)
- Strong experience in chemical or industrial manufacturing
- Proven leadership in managing plant operations and teams
- Solid understanding of OSHAct, ISO, and compliance frameworks
- Hands-on ability to solve operational challenges and drive efficiency
- Strong communication and reporting skills
