Job Summary
Our client, a well-established company operating within the paper, chemical, and industrial distribution sector, is seeking to appoint an experienced Sales Executive to join their team based in Pinetown, KZN.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing new business opportunities, and maintaining strong customer relationships within the chemicals industry. This role is ideal for a target-driven sales professional with strong industry knowledge and a passion for customer engagement and business development.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Tertiary qualification in Sales, Business, Marketing, or related field advantageous
- Minimum 5 years’ proven external sales experience
- Extensive experience within the chemicals industry is non-negotiable
- Strong understanding of sales processes, customer relationship management, and negotiation techniques
- Valid driver’s licence
- Own reliable transport
- Proficient in MS Office
- Experience working with CRM and BRM systems advantageous
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Target-driven with strong organisational and time management ability
Responsibilities:
Sales and Business Development
- Develop and grow sales within the assigned territory
- Identify and secure new business opportunities
- Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers
- Present, promote, and sell products and services to prospective and existing clients
- Conduct customer needs analysis and provide suitable solutions
- Achieve monthly sales targets and performance objectives
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Serve as the key communication link between customers and internal departments
- Ensure excellent customer service and client satisfaction
- Resolve customer queries, complaints, and concerns efficiently
- Continuously identify opportunities to upsell and expand accounts
Reporting and Administration
- Maintain accurate sales records and CRM updates
- Submit weekly and monthly sales reports
- Track pipeline activity and territory performance
- Prepare quotations, presentations, and sales proposals
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and support
Market and Product Knowledge
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and market developments
- Continuously improve product knowledge and sales techniques
- Attend meetings, training sessions, and industry events where required
