Job Title Meetings & Events Sales Manager Establishment Type Destination Hotel & Boutique Beach Property Location Durban North (Head Office) with Travel to Northern KZN & Ballito Salary Package R25;000 – R35,000 per month (DOE) Commission on confirmed meetings, events, and weddings revenue Live-out; office-based role with regular travel Role Overview A destination hotel group in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Meetings & Events Sales Manager to proactively grow and manage conferencing, meetings, events, and wedding business. This role is responsible for driving profitable revenue, managing client relationships, and acting as the single point of contact from first enquiry through to final handover to operations. The focus is on increasing mid-week occupancy, event-driven room nights, and total revenue across accommodation and food and beverage. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Proactively source and convert meetings, conferences, events, and wedding enquiries Manage all enquiries and RFPs from first contact to confirmation Build strong relationships with corporates, NGOs, facilitators, planners, and wedding service providers Conduct professional site inspections and client meetings Drive repeat business and long-term partnerships Pre-Event & Pre-Wedding Planning Act as the single point of contact for corporate clients and wedding couples Manage full pre-event planning including: Function and wedding sheets Timelines and schedules Rooming lists and allocations Catering; beverages, AV, décor, and special requests Ensure all events are fully scoped, costed, and contractually confirmed Deliver structured handovers to operations teams for flawless execution Pipeline; Revenue & Reporting Maintain an active and forward-looking sales pipeline Achieve agreed revenue, room-night, and profitability targets Track enquiry-to-conversion ratios and repeat business Provide regular performance and forecasting reports to management Minimum Requirements (Essential) Proven experience in hospitality sales, conferencing, events, or wedding sales Strong ability to convert enquiries into confirmed business Excellent organisational and planning skills Confident communicator with strong relationship-building ability Commercially aware with understanding of yield and margins Ability to manage multiple events and weddings simultaneously Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of results Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between properties Advantageous Experience working directly with wedding couples Established network within corporate, events, or wedding industries Experience with destination hotels or resort-style properties ?
