Location: Clanwilliam, Western Cape Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and creative Pastry Sous Chef to join a luxury wilderness reserve in Clanwilliam. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate chef to support the Executive Chef in delivering exceptional pastry, dessert, and baking experiences for guests in a high-end hospitality environment. ? Key Responsibilities ? Assist the Executive Chef in planning, preparing, and presenting all pastry and dessert offerings ? Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene ?? Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff in the pastry section ? Monitor stock levels, ordering, and cost control for the pastry department ⚡ Ensure smooth daily kitchen operations and adherence to schedules ? Collaborate with the culinary team to create seasonal menus and special desserts ? Uphold all health, safety, and hygiene standards ? Requirements ✔ Previous experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or similar role in a luxury lodge or high-end restaurant ✔ Strong knowledge of baking, pastry techniques, and dessert preparation ✔ Ability to work under pressure while maintaining creativity and consistency ✔ Leadership and mentoring skills ✔ Understanding of food cost, stock management, and kitchen organisation ✔ Professional, motivated, and passionate about culinary excellence ?
