The Role The Reserve Manager will be responsible for the overall management, conservation, and day-to-day operations of the reserve, ensuring sustainable environmental practices, effective wildlife management, and compliance with all relevant legislation. ? Key Responsibilities • Oversee all aspects of reserve management, including wildlife, veld, and habitat conservation • Manage and lead the ranger and conservation teams, including training and performance management • Implement and monitor conservation, security, and anti-poaching strategies • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and legal requirements • Maintain reserve infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment • Manage budgets, procurement, and cost control related to reserve operations • Work closely with lodge management to align conservation efforts with guest experiences • Assist with guided activities, guest interactions, and educational conservation initiatives where required • Build and maintain positive relationships with local communities, authorities, and conservation bodies ? Candidate Requirements • Proven experience as a Reserve Manager, Senior Ranger, or Conservation Manager • Relevant qualification in Nature Conservation, Wildlife Management, or a related field • Strong leadership and people-management skills • Sound knowledge of wildlife management, veld management, and conservation practices • Valid driver’s licence (professional driving permit advantageous) • Physically fit and comfortable working in a remote, live-in environment • Passionate about conservation, sustainability, and environmental stewardship ?
