Key Responsibilities & Technical Focus

As part of the team, you will provide technical advice to leading fruit producers. Your role will cover a broad range of horticultural disciplines relating to pome and stone fruit:

• Optimal Pruning Practices: Development and implementation of modern tree-training and pruning techniques.

• Physiological Management: Strategic application of dormancy-breaking agents and chemical thinning to optimise crop load.

• Plant Growth Regulators: Precision application of plant growth regulators to maximise fruit quality, size and yield.

• Producer Interaction: Organising and coordinating technical producer tours, study groups and demonstration days.

• Fieldwork: Regular farm visits and monitoring of diverse production areas.

Operasionele Areas

Vereistes:

• BSc in Hortologie of 'n relevante Nagraadse Landbougraad.

• Afrikaans en Engels.

• Hardwerkend, leergierig, betroubaar, goeie kommunikasie en spanspeler.

• Bereidwilligheid om lang ure te werk gedurende piek-seisoene.

• Geldige rybewys en skoon rekord.

Requirements:

• BSc in Horticulture or a relevant postgraduate agricultural degree.

• Afrikaans and English.

• Hardworking, eager to learn, reliable, good communication skills and a team player.

• Willingness to work long hours during peak seasons.

• Valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
