Job Summary
Agriplas (Gauteng) manufactures and sells irrigation equipment and systems, specializing in the agricultural sector, with an additional focus on industrial water filtration. Agriplas continuously strive to improve their products whilst maintaining an exceptional level of service.
The company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and manage the Automation Department.
Key Performance Areas:
Manage a team of technicians located nationwide
Develop and implement systems and processes to enhance efficiency in the Automation Department
Oversee the installation, commission, and testing of automation and fertigation systems
Attend to client queries and requests and allocate tasks to team
Oversee development and provide input w.r.t. Proof of Concepts and field trials
Oversee assembly and setup of irrigation, fertigation, control, radio, and IoT systems
Requirements:
Engineering Degree (Electronic / Electric / Mechatronic / Industrial)
At least 5 years’ experience in managing a team
Background in automation
Experience in a technical design field will be beneficial
Previous experience in managing a team in field support will be advantageous
Proven experience in the development of systems and processes to optimise efficiency
Innovative self-starter
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proficient in English and Afrikaans
Willingness to travel in designated service area, in South Africa and surrounding countries
Valid driver’s licence
