Job Summary
Ensure effective alignment, planning and implementation of client's supply chain tactical and operational plans.The primary focus is to manage the company's purchasing tactical plan within the constraints of a neutral working capital inventory model, warehouse capacity planning and management while maintaining clients’ inbound product standards, without compromising on assured supply to the SADC Africa market.
Managing the Supply Chain Function which includes process compliance, people development and succession planning. Developing and managing the company's relationship with both internal and external clients as well as the supplier base, enabling customers’ solutions across the supply chain and all SADC Africa markets.
The Key Functional Responsibilities includes but is not limited to:
- Ensure to execute the following for the SADC Africa/ROSSA markets:
- Align execution capability with the client requirements as their needs change based on their tactical plans.
- Manage and implement market tests and new client projects based on their new requirements.
- Assist with operations execution of client promotions using project management tools.
- Implement new services into the supply chain as per customer requirements across international boundaries and stakeholders’ areas, taking operational infrastructure capability into account.
- Manage and oversee export process non-conformance with stakeholders, to enable on time and accurate order execution.
- Manage internal and external relationships with all parties to ensure process compliance and timeous order execution.
- Implement and monitor specific projects that have been agreed and signed off to meet Client's expectations, product costing and pricing agreed with the customer.
- Design, cost, and agree Import as well as Export supply chain solutions with the business development manager and Customer, considering all costing elements of international trade.
- Agree and sign off product pricing with customer at every price change interval.
- Manage and communicate price change process with the Supply Chain team at every price change interval.
- Ensure efficient, effective, and accurate monthly, weekly and daily planning as well as communication on promotions and imported products.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external clients (suppliers and corporations SCM team) to improve operating efficiencies.
- Assist operations with inbound.
- Manage orders, permit, and facilitate the imports/export process.
- Ensure that the import permit requirements match the movement certificate (as per State Vet) and Health Certificate (as per supplier).
- Ensure 100% order fulfilment and documentation accuracy on import/export process as well as timeous execution of order, achieving the required order, delivery and on time key performance indicators.
- Adherence and delivery against specific components of the scorecard with emphasis on targets and accuracy. Make sure of assured supply of product within the market.
- Escalate an incident that may lead to impacting assure supply of core menu items. Ensure documentation submitted timeously to DC's for picking and loading.
- Maintain and manage non-compliance to the Supply Manual, Company process, Supply Protocol, etc. Maintain website access and training of new suppliers.
- Ensure new suppliers have had an induction tour and filled in necessary documentation.
- Develop a planning purchasing schedule matching DC capability, delivery timeslots and capacity. Forecast sales to ensure optimum stock levels during peak periods with minimal impact to DC capacity.
- Manage assure supply daily along the DC procurement plan to ensure that the DC does not impact market with out of stocks. Ensure to follow through with Supply Chain, progress in all Purchase Orders placed and inter-DC transfers within South Africa.
- Manage order lead times, DC build to stock model, assured supply, especially on imports to deal with long lead times as well as export orders impact on stock cover days.
- Manage shelf-life items pro-actively with the customer, flagging possible stock write offs. Manage discontinued items to the minimum and follow through with the customer.
- When impacting assured supply, notify the client to implement contingency plan or letter of variance process. Obtain marketing calendar and execute accordingly to meet market requirements.
- Obtain product information sheet and process per Master Data requirements. Implement a project plan to meet customer requirements.
- Communicate plan with Ops contact with weekly update as to progress and minimum stock write off related to each event. Ensure adequate training id planned for your staff. Ensure staff has PDAs.
- Make sure Purchasing staff understands the strategic intent of purchasing plans.
- Validate administrative filing compliance as required by Company and SARS to protect the organization’s integrity.
- Ensure all SAD 500's for exports is obtained from Freight Forwarders and Managed Freight within 3 working days from shipment. Supply Chain costings to be verified and singed off with the customer. Supply Chain Operations Protocol to be managed with the customer.
- Ensure accurate updating of the Item Master and Pricing File between company and the primary client us on file. Ensure accurate completion of relevant administration documentation as per BU scorecard.
- Submit accurate daily, weekly and monthly plans and reports timeously.
- Ensure efficient and accurate administration for transactional excellence within the department.
- Ensure Purchasing process and worksheet is used correctly.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 with relevant Supply Chain or Logistics related Degree compulsory.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Minimum 3-5years proven Leadership experience in Supply Chain Management within a FMCG or QSR environment.
- 5 years’ experience within Exports as a Manager.
- MS Office with advanced Excel Skills.
- Microsoft Great Plains and WMS knowledge is required.
