Job Summary
Our Client in the Agricultural Technology & Livestock Solutions Industry is seeking to employ an experienced Supply Chain Manager to their team based in Cape Town (Killarney Gardens).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years’ equivalent experience in supply chain planning.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in demand and supply planning or inventory management.
- Proven experience with S&OP processes and planning governance.
- Strong understanding of inventory strategy, stocking policies, and production capacity principles.
- Experience working with demand planning and supply planning systems such as Slim4.
- ERP system experience, preferably SAP.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a regional or international environment.
- Proven leadership experience managing operational staff.
- Strong self-management, time management, and organisational skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Manage demand and supply planning processes in line with standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Collect, review, analyse, and upload sales forecasts into the planning system.
- Review forecast exceptions and prepare inputs for Demand Review Meetings.
- Lead Demand Review Meetings for assigned product lines and document actions, minutes, and forecast changes.
- Resolve forecast and inventory exceptions through collaboration with commercial and operational teams.
- Maintain and optimise stock levels to balance service levels, cost, and inventory turnover.
- Generate and analyse inventory reports, addressing excess, slow-moving, and low stock situations.
- Manage supply plans and coordinate with internal plants and external suppliers to resolve shortages or delays.
- Create, review, and place purchase and work orders in a timely manner.
- Manage and coordinate inbound logistics for international and local shipments.
- Oversee product customisation activities and manage operational resources to ensure on-time execution.
- Monitor and maintain planning master data, including lead times, service levels, and stocking parameters.
- Identify system or process challenges and implement improvement actions.
- Escalate unresolved planning and supply issues to senior leadership where required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety rules and report incidents as required.
- Maintain and update relevant SOPs and work instructions.
