A culinary establishment in the Foreshore area of Cape Town is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Sous Chef to join its dynamic kitchen brigade. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to take a leading role in kitchen operations, uphold exceptional standards, and contribute to an inspiring culinary environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring all dishes meet the establishment’s high standards Support the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and maintaining quality control Supervise; train, and mentor junior chefs, fostering growth and consistency within the team Ensure all mise-en-place is completed to perfection before each service Maintain rigorous portion control, presentation, and food quality standards Uphold strict hygiene, safety, and sanitation regulations throughout the kitchen Manage stock levels, rotation, ordering, and wastage control efficiently Assist with staff scheduling and contribute to smooth, coordinated service Report and follow up on maintenance or equipment issues promptly Requirements Proven experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef in a professional kitchen Recognised culinary qualification (advantageous) Excellent knowledge of advanced culinary techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards Strong leadership abilities with a talent for motivating and guiding kitchen staff Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining precision and composure Exceptional communication, teamwork, and organisational skills Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays High standards of personal presentation and hygiene To apply: Please upload your updated CV, a recent profile photo, and any written or telephonic references.
