Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant Manager to lead the new restaurant we are opening, a contemporary vegetarian and dairy, italian, mediterianin dining concept located at Premier Hotel Cape Town. This role requires a hands-on leader who is passionate about hospitality, service excellence, and delivering a refined yet warm dining experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all restaurant operations, driving revenue, maintaining high standards, and leading a motivated team. Key Responsibilities Operations Management Oversee daily restaurant operations (floor, kitchen coordination, service flow) Ensure smooth service during breakfast, lunch, and dinner periods Manage reservations, table allocations, and guest flow Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards at all times Guest Experience Deliver exceptional guest service and handle guest feedback professionally Build relationships with regular guests and hotel residents Ensure a welcoming, attentive, and premium dining experience Team Leadership Recruit; train, and manage front-of-house staff Develop team skills in service standards, product knowledge, and upselling Prepare staff schedules and manage productivity Financial & Commercial Drive revenue through upselling and effective service strategies Manage stock control, ordering, and wastage Work with Executive Chef on menu execution and cost control Monitor daily sales and performance against targets Compliance & Standards Ensure adherence to kosher requirements and kitchen protocols Maintain health & safety and food safety standards Ensure alignment with Premier Hotels & Resorts SOPs Requirements Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Restaurant Manager or similar role Experience in hotel or premium restaurant environment Strong leadership and people management skills Excellent communication and customer service abilities Financial acumen (stock control, cost management, reporting) Knowledge or experience in kosher operations (advantageous) Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays Key Competencies Leadership & team development Attention to detail High service standards Problem-solving and decision-making Strong organizational skills Commercial awareness What We Offer Opportunity to lead a unique and growing restaurant concept Supportive management environment Career growth and development opportunities Competitive salary based on experience
