Job Summary
Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Business Analyst to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of business analysis practices and a desire to develop their skills in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering & Documentation
- Apply the principles of requirements engineering to capture and manage business requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Elicit input from a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, identifying areas of alignment and conflict in requirements.
- Document requirements in the form of user stories with clear and testable acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives, learning new systems and processes, and translating insights back to the business analysis team.
Process Modelling
- Use Microsoft Visio to model business processes, user journeys, and scenarios.
- Capture and analyse the current ("as-is") state of business operations.
- Conduct gap analysis to identify improvement opportunities and support the design of future ("to-be") states.
- Present actionable recommendations based on process insights.
Stakeholder Communication
- Participate in and contribute to workshops and discovery sessions, effectively documenting stakeholder input.
- Constructively challenge feedback while maintaining stakeholder engagement and trust.
- Communicate findings clearly and concisely to senior analysts, project managers, and developers.
- Use negotiation and influence skills to help stakeholders prioritise requirements effectively.
- Work closely with developers to ensure business requirements are well understood and accurately translated into functional solutions.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Familiarity with requirements engineering frameworks and best practices.
- Proficiency in process modelling tools, especially Microsoft Visio.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate.
- Detail-oriented, with a mindset for continuous learning and improvement.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and iterating towards clarity in deliverables.
