Head Mixologist - Five-Star Luxury Hotel - Cape Town A five-star hotel in Cape Town is seeking an exceptional Head Mixologist to lead and elevate its beverage experience. This role is ideal for a passionate, innovative, and detail-driven professional with a strong understanding of luxury service standards, cocktail craftsmanship, and team leadership. Key Duties and Responsibilities Lead; develop, and inspire the bar and mixology team to deliver world-class service Design; create, and maintain innovative cocktail menus aligned with the hotel’s brand and seasonal concepts Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and taste across all beverages served Oversee daily bar operations, including stock control, ordering, and inventory management Manage beverage cost control, pricing strategies, and waste reduction Train and mentor staff on mixology techniques, service etiquette, and product knowledge Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards Collaborate closely with F&B management, chefs, and events teams to create bespoke beverage pairings and experiences Curate premium spirits, wines, and craft ingredients suitable for a luxury environment Handle guest feedback professionally and proactively enhance the guest experience Requirements Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior bar or mixology role within a five-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment Proven leadership and team-management experience Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktail techniques Passion for innovation, trends, and premium ingredients Excellent communication and interpersonal skills High attention to detail and presentation standards Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays Professional appearance and guest-focused attitude Personal Attributes Creative; confident, and well-presented Calm and effective under pressure Strong organisational and time-management skills Committed to excellence and continuous improvement To Apply Please submit: An updated CV A brief portfolio or description of cocktail concepts (where available) References (written or contactable) Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
