HEAD BUTLER – LUXURY HOTEL | CAPE TOWN
A leading luxury hotel in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Head Butler to oversee and elevate its butler service operation, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and develop the butler team to deliver personalised, world-class service
Ensure seamless coordination with Housekeeping, F&B, Front Office, and Engineering
Drive guest satisfaction through anticipation of needs, VIP service delivery, and relationship management
Oversee stock control, minibar operations, and cost management (including inventory and variance control)
Implement and maintain service standards, SOPs, and operational procedures
Monitor departmental performance, prepare reports, and improve efficiency and profitability
Manage guest preferences, profiles, and service delivery systems
Handle guest feedback, complaints, and service recovery professionally
Guest-centric mindset with strong attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong organisational and decision-making ability
Flexible and adaptable with a hands-on leadership approach
Qualifications:
Hospitality or Hotel Management qualification preferred
Butler certification advantageous
3–5 years’ experience in a senior butler or luxury hospitality role
Strong leadership, training, and team development skills
Solid knowledge of Food & Beverage service, etiquette, and luxury standards
Experience with stock control, reporting, and operational planning
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Computer literate (MS Office; hospitality systems advantageous)
Well-presented, detail-oriented, and service-driven
