At The President Hotel, our Maintenance team keeps our 349-room property safe, comfortable and operating at its best. As we continue our journey toward luxury, we’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Facilities Technician with recognised Red Seal Trade Test certification and 2–4 years’ relevant experience. This multi-skilled role covers general building maintenance, HVAC, air-conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems and repairs. Previous maintenance experience within a hotel or commercial office/property environment is essential. Minimum Requirements Recognised Red Seal Trade Test certification is essential and non-negotiable. Relevant trade background in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing or a related facilities discipline. 2–4 years’ relevant facilities or building maintenance experience within a hotel or commercial property. Strong practical skills across HVAC, air-conditioning, plumbing, electrical and general repairs, with confident fault-finding abilities. Commercial refrigeration experience, including cold rooms, chillers, freezers and ice machines, is advantageous. Experience with planned and preventative maintenance and the ability to read technical diagrams and manuals. Sound understanding of health and safety procedures. Experience using OMNI or a similar maintenance management system is advantageous. Professional; guest-focused and able to respond promptly to breakdowns. Availability for shifts, weekends, public holidays and emergency call-outs. Valid South African ID Updated CV with Red Seal certification, relevant qualifications and contactable references. What You’ll Be Doing Maintaining guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, restaurants, conference facilities and back-of-house areas. Servicing and repairing HVAC, air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment within your technical scope. Resolving plumbing faults and completing electrical maintenance within your authorised scope. Repairing fixtures, fittings, doors, locks and general building defects. Completing preventative maintenance to minimise breakdowns and downtime. Responding to urgent requests, diagnosing faults and escalating specialist work when required. Coordinating repairs with operational departments and maintaining accurate job cards and maintenance records. Following health, safety and environmental procedures.
